Back to work

The drive back from Mt. Gambier was a trial. After having head winds down on Thursday and Friday, it turned around and we had head winds all the way home. The Xtrail does not have a big tank, so we had to top up at Tailem Bend. Cousin Rocky used to run the Golden Fleece Road House at Tailem Bend, so we called in for fuel. Its a Subway now, but apart from the paintwork and the SAFF signs, it looks the same as it was in the seventies.

The Mitcham Fair is coming up this week end, which will keep me busy. After that we are off to Broken Hill for more dog trials. How did I ever find time to work for Telstra?

Working at the Mount

We have had two days of trialling, and got a little sun burnt and a lot dirty. The grounds were dry and dusty so every time a dog ran past a cloud of dust was kicked up, and went over me.
The days went well with some good results over the weekend.
The picture shows the Bool Lagoon from one of the boardwalks, it looks like they have had a mower on it. See previous post.

Mt Gambier

Arrived at the Mount, after calling in at Bool Lagoon. It should be called Bool Prarie, because it is a long time since it was a lagoon.
Day 1 of the trials went well, with Kathy doing the CCD, Novice and veterans, while Keith did Open. Tomorrow Kathy does Open and Keith has Jumping and Agility. Should be a long day.
Good night in the Golf Club Bistro with friends.

On the road again

Like Willie Nelson, we are on the road again. If you do not know who Willie Nelson is, you're too bloody young.
We got to Padthaway after a slow start due to many things, but we left by 2pm. We stopped at Coonalpin, and found the caravan was not locked on to the tow bar, which caused a slight increase in heart beats, but ' Nullus Anxitus' , we got here ok.

Home, but planning.

We got home on Sunday with a few more boxes than we left with, but the wallet was lighter, so that evens out in the end, dosen't it?.
The Barossa farmers market and the wineries filled up every bit of space in the car and the van.
Next trip is being planned. Kathy wants to go to the Grampians in Victoria, and as the weather looks good we will probably be there for a few days before going to Mount Gambier for the dog trials.
